Garage Sale, Sunday 8 August all day.

We are going to hold a garage sale (in our barns) on Sunday 8th August and you are welcome to come between 10am to 5pm.

There will be clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac, house-hold items, tools, books and various other things all at very low prices/offers/and some items for free.

If you need directions, please PM me. If you've been to our book-swaps, you know where we are!

Hi Goose,

It's a shame we are not moved in yet we will need many household items. Hopefully you will have another in the future. Are there any restrictions on having a garage sale in France?

Re: Garage Sale, Sunday 8 August all day.

The garage sale was an entertaining day and we enjoyed it as it turned into a sort of hamlet fête with all of our neighbours coming round several times and staying to gossip with everyone.

Not certain about actual restrictions that there might be, Siptea, as we did nothing other than put a couple of posters up and advertise it on forums. We also put a small notice outside our barns for the last couple of days running up to it.

One neighbour was the Maire's adjutant for many years until a couple of years ago and he was one who joined in and came round lots of times - never said a word that we shouldn't have had it and in fact suggested that we advertise it in the bakers and lots of other places - though we didn't.

Not likely to hold any more though - no need.
