Hi,
we live inbetween Chenerailles and Aubusson, we will be there next weekend if you want a bath or to wash your clothes I can give you further instructions to our house. We have a small splash pool if you have any kids that need to cool down, be glad to see you.
Dont know much about electrics I'm afraid we have our house english style (safer with kids).

Hello,

Thank you so much for your hospitality, it's very much appreciated! We haven't moved in yet, we are still in the process of obtaining our loan, which we are told will not be a problem given our income and price of the house. Just takes time!

No kids but we have 4 Siamese cats! The house is habitable, there's old electrics and a sink in the kitchen, a bathtub, etc. It all works just needs updating, and of course cosmetic stuff like wallpaper. The move will take all of our savings so we couldn't get a home with too much work needed. Over time, it could be quite grand! I'll let you know when we come down to sign pepers, etc. It would be lovely to meet you!

Hi,

We have a place just outside Moutier-Malcard. Found in Apr 2000 finally bought the following November and needs lots of work. We get over for a week every 3 months and have done everything ourselves so far (except sandblasting oak beams) so slow progress. Hope to move there from Devon in a year or so.
Gathering quotes for fosse at moment, not going to do that myself ! lol.

If you spot a red VW van wandering around....that's us. I'ts often in the brico carpark in La Chatre, I think we have shares in the place now!

Hi!

Thanks for the message. Gosh, bought your place in 2000 that is a long time ago! Is it true that when your house is being worked on you need to be there to supervise? And also that they will make an appt. and not show up? I've read this in all of those "expat moves to France" books!

Hi Marg and Mike,

Hello from me and my Dutch partner, Joost. I don't know the area well yet, but I imagine that anyone within La Creuse can't be too far from each other. I hope we can meet you sometime once we live there.

I'm not sure when our loan will go through and we need to sign papers in person, but will let you and the rest know to see if anyone wants to chat in person. It may be as soon as September, I'm not sure how long these things take normally.

How did you choose the area?

We also looked at houses in Boussac but they weren't what we were looking for, lovely area though.

Do yu have any advice or suggestions for us for this move?
