Ld Lines, Transmanche

Not sure if this is the correct section to raise this topic. Have just found that www.tbreaks.com give 5% discount on the LD lines and TM fares.
Has anyone booked through them before? 5% seems a goodly sum for just using the website

Re: Ld Lines, Transmanche

Have not used the service you mention but;-

For info if you ferret about on the LD Lines you will find a 20% discount on the Newhaven - Dieppe route only, and just for seniors 60+yrs.
(Look under offers Newhaven - Dieppe)

You have to make your booking by telephoning their customer services and they send booking confirmation via email.

This obviously will not work for everyone owing to route and age restrictions but I have just booked with them reducing the fare for my van from £160 to £128.
I use the most cost effective crossings which puts me on the road overnight and this crossing gives me the shortest and most economical run for my van in France. Saving approx 160miles return and approx 25euros payage over the run to the Tunnel.

Hi
Over in the UK at present. Travelled Calais/Dover via Sea France for 46 Euros return. Not as low as the late, lamented Speed Ferries but their entry into the market seems to have driven fares down . . . for the present.

Re: Ld Lines, Transmanche

Thanks Tim I will look forward to the 60s discount.
We miss good old Speed Ferries. We have a Dover -Dunkerque ferry booked for Nov. but with the LD Line Newhaven - Dieppe fare coming in at under £100 we may use them. I use travelling time to Rouen as a guideline (this assumes you do n't favour going near Paris).
Dunkerque - Rouen 155 miles say 2hours 20mins
Dieppe - Rouen 45 miles 45 mins & no Toll
Calais I do n't like as a port but may be 15-20mins quicker than Dunkerque.
We think the saving on petrol (the A16 can be undulating) and cutting down on the journey time (for what is a long journey, make LD lines Newhaven - Dieppe Route look more attractive.
Bon route
