A lovely day out in our beautiful department

Hi just thought I would share my lovely day out this week. The sun was shining and up to about 16 degrees, not a cloud in the sky.
We ate the menu at a little restaurant near Gueret at Chapelle Taillefert.

12€ menu which consisted of a croque monsieur with salad which pretty much resembled my usual lunch in total and that was the starter!! Then followed by a main course of rabbit in a mustard cream sauce and pasta, then cheese and then an ice-cream parfait for dessert ...oh and plus a glass of wine. Great quality, price and service and the place was so clean and as a bonus I could take the dog in with me to sit under the table!!
We then did one of the marked walks from the same village. There are 3 and all leave from outside the Mairie. Ours was the shortest at 5km and even though a lot of it is on the roads we didn't see another car!
Just thought I would share this as it's always good to have a recommendation. I will definitely be trying the restaurant again and will probably try an evening next time.

Sounds like you had a great day. There's nothing better than a good lunch followed by sunny afternoon walk in the Creuse.

Don't forget to rate and recommend the restaurant in the Directory.

This nice post from JulieR reminds me how much I miss being able to take my dog to restaurants with me--in most of the USA this is forbidden, probably an archaic frontier remnant of when dogs were weapons, not pets. Also, looks like spring may come to Creuse after all----we just got our tickets for our rentrée in early May.
